bio

When Debra embarked on her course in Art and Design in 1974 she never imagined, although dreamed, that this urge to create would last forever. She was not sure at the time what that actually meant but what she does know is that the passion to create has never left her side.

After 36 years of exploration and continued practice came upon a theme that tweaked her imagination and has since had the pleasure of creating an extensive body of work that reflects her dream.

Layer by layer she sifted through ideas and experiments and it it astounding that since she made the commitment to use painting as her preferred medium - though her training was, in fact, printmaking - she was able to make the transition through paint and found that she was able to express herself in a more direct way.
